NYFW. There have been so many amazing designers and looks walking the runway this past week – my NYFW Pinterest board is working overtime. I wanted to include every look that managed to take my breath away, but quickly realized I’d need to compromise and selected ten shows to share. Each show had such a great mix of looks, so I decided to include a day and night look for each designer. Hope you enjoy these pics and the rest of fashion week! Wish I was there soaking it all up in person, but until that day comes I’ll continue to enjoy sifting through photos nymag.com.

The Books I’m Loving

Martha’s Entertaining/My Favourite Dress/50 Modern Artists You Should Know/                   I Love Your Style/Style A to ZOE

For todays post I thought it would be fun to share some books that I’m currently reading and coveting. Each of these has inspired my style in some shape or form. My recent fashion, design and artistic tastes have been influenced by the words and images in each of these books.

Martha’s Entertaining - As usual, Martha does not disappointment, and with every set of tools she provides to host a wonderful soiree, she includes a beautiful set of photos. These photos are so beautiful I swear I could flip through this book every day, and just stare at the beautifully and immaculately photographed parties and gatherings.

My Favourite Dress - 150 of the most iconic designers and fabulous celebrities are asked to select their very most favourite dress. And, as you can imagine, this book is just a feast for your eyes. With each page you turn, it seems as if the dresses become more stunning than the one before it.

50 Modern Artists You Should Know - CK is an art aficionado and she is particularly attracted to the work of modern artists, so I figured I needed to brush up on my knowledge. This book does a great job of breaking down some of the most relevant artists and touches on the different eras of modern art, to provide an extensive wealth of knowledge.

I Love Your Style - Amanda Brooks hits it spot on with this wonderful exploration of prolific styles. You end up reading it and see so much of yourself in the words and images, and in the end feel such clarity on your own personal style. No wonder this gal is the fashion director at Barney’s.

Style A To ZOE - If you love Rachel Zoe, you will absolutely love this book. In typical Zoe fashion, she provides tips and tricks to making sure you lead the most glamorous and stylish life possible. Her commentary and classic vocab make you feel like RZ is sitting right next to you, teaching you how to look and feel incredibly glamorous 24/7.

Rachel Zoe NYFW Spring RTW 2012

Rachel Zoe. One word Love. Carolina and I are major major fans of Rachel Zoe. Although NY Fashion Week has passed, I wanted to sit and reminisce on the designers and looks we absolutely loved! Rachel Zoe’s collection was so inspring, I absolutely love that her looks are created for distinct fashionista. Whether it’s the Parisian girl or the Downtown girl, she always seems to get it right and make me want to wear the clothes and take on the persona.

After selecting my favorite three looks I realized that my sister would be quick to point out that these three looks are very much my style. Of course I picked a black, white and bright blue solid outfit. I always enjoy a good neutral (in my mind blacks a neutral).
