Hers and Mine | The Stripes

Pink Striped Dress (old Forever 21) | DIY Forever 21 Vest | H&M Cobalt Blue Heels (similar)

I loved the classic striped look Samantha wore on her blog Could I Have That I decided to re-interpret it in a different way. She opted for a neutral dress, shoes and belt and added a pop of hot pink color on her lips and nails, while I opted for a hot pink dress, blue heels and a neutral vest. So, it was kind of an opposite day hers and mine. I know we’re heading into the last weeks of our Indian Summer, so I wanted to rock my bright pink for as long as I can!

Transitioning into a Fall/Summer Night

Flannel: Urban Outfitters | Denim Cut Off Shorts: DIY Levi’s Jeans | Green Pumps: H&M

We’re still experiencing quite a bit of heat, but I must admit it’s starting to cool off a tad bit more than it was last week in the evenings. It’s still warm enough to show some bare leg, but cool enough to incorporate a colorful Fall flannel button up. I combined the two and added in a pair of green H&M pumps to complete a look that would make for a perfect evening BBQ or casual date night outfit. The perfect mix of Fall and Summer to make the transition into Fall weather both fun, chic and comfortable!

Part 2: STRIPES the Nighttime Look

This past Saturday was my 10 year high school reunion…I mean gasp I could hardly believe it had been that long! At first I didn’t want to go, but in the end I’m so glad I went. It was so nice seeing so many people I used to love seeing many eons ago. I ended up wearing this Club Monaco skirt with a floral print top, but for today’s post I added in the striped tank and military vest I wore to dinner last week. The combination is my take on a STRIPES at nighttime look. If you’re looking for some casual daytime inspiration, check out part 1 here.

Moral of today’s post: If you’re contemplating going to your 10 year reunion go, you won’t regret it!

Aaannnddd we’re back! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend. Most of mine was spent moving, unpacking and organizing but I can’t complain, the new apartment is eons better than the old one. I can already feel all the good energy it has to offer! I promise to post some home pictures as soon as we get everything set-up and settled in.

I was lucky enough to have some time yesterday to meet up with Miss Sara B and take some outfit photos. It had seriously been so long since I’d last seen her so we had a speed round catch-up session!

I wore this outfit last week after I got back from NYC, when I couldn’t get these Topshop wedge sneakers off my feet, and decided it would make for a great two part post. Today’s post focuses on a daytime Summer striped look, because let’s face it, here in Southern California nobody has told the weather that we’re heading into Fall just yet. So as much as I want to post Fall weather outfits (my fave season to dress for) I just can’t because they’d just be lies, all lies to you people because it wouldn’t be what I’m actually wearing.

Cross your fingers it starts too cool off here so we can rock some boots and skinnies sometime soon!

The Big Apple

Shirt: H&M (similar) | Shorts: Anthropologie | Boots: Steve Madden

Last weekend I was lucky enough to make it out to the Big Apple to visit CK during her first week in NYC. And obvi, she’s completely loving living in the city! We took the subway down to the Brooklyn Bridge and spent the weekend frequenting oh so many touristy spots. I’m sure if you follow along in Instagram your feed was blown up with pictures from NYC (sorry about that).

Now that she’s in NYC The Kina’s are bi-coastal, so you’ll get a mix of both the beachy and city backdrops Orange County and Manhattan have to offer! Hope you all have a lovely TGIF!

[The Look] Rainbow Brite

Black Sweater Dress, Belt and Heels: H&M (similar dress) | Denim Vest: Levi’s | Bracelets: J.Crew & Ann Taylor | Sunglasses: Carrera

Last week I rolled up the sleeves on my black H&M sweater dress and headed down to Balboa Island to meet up with Miss Sara B to take some outfit photos and head out for happy hour. I styled up my sweater dress by rolling up the sleeves to accomodate for the warmer temps, and paired it with a pair of green suede heels, bright baubles and nails. To add extra layers to the outfit, I broke out a skinny yellow belt and threw on my dark denim Levi’s vest. Lately I’ve been trying to challenge myself and see how many more intricate elements I can layer into my outfit. I mean, I’ve bought all these accessories, I might as well start utilizing them!

I always have the best time when I meet up with Sara B, she’s seriously one of the most genuine and kind people I know and I’m so glad the blogging world has brought us together as “real life” friends. We chomped on a yummy salad at Cafe R&D at Fashion Island, had macarons and stopped off to get some really cute shoes that were on sale at Cathy Jean. It was a wonderful afternoon of photos, eating and shopping!

Short + Sweet

Madewell Metallic Clutch | Michael Kors Watch & Sunglasses | J.Crew Gold and Crystal Bracelet | H&M Floral Print Blouse | Free People Washed Vegan Leather Shorts | Steve Madden Nude Cris Cross Wedges (similar)

Keeping it short + sweet this Friday! I wore this outfit this past Sunday to run some errands and spend some time catching up on some blogs at my fave Starbucks. As you can see, I’m a huge fan of the H&M floral print (seen here and here) I simply can’t get enough. I was so pleased a how well this blouse works with these faux leather shorts  (seen here on CK), and my nude wedges, it’s so funny how these little things can bring such excitement. I’m so excited the weekend is finally here, hope you all have some fab warm weather plans!

As usual, we’re linking up with Long Distance Loving for some Friday’s Fancies! And a special thanks to Sara B for snapping these photos!
