As I continue my journey of cultivating a wardrobe that truly reflects my personal style, I’ve found myself adding more and more black into my closet. Black has always been the new black to me. It’s my favorite “color” to wear. As I’ve said in past post, there was a time where I tried to not buy as many neutral pieces because I was influenced by others, but now that I’ve come into my own I know that I personally can never have too many black pieces in my closet. Whether it’s the cut, an angle, trim or pattern, black is never boring.
Here are a few of my favorite monochromatic looks from my “Black is Always the New Black” Pinterest board. There have been so many amazing Summer inspired looks streaming through the web. What have been some of your favorites? Any particular bloggers you love in black? For me, Sincerely Jules and Song of Style always hit it out of the ball park!

Monochromatic does not mean all black, but I honestly can’t help myself. Black and I are just the greatest BFFs ever. I love you even though whether or not you’re an actual color is up for debate. For me, I consider it my favorite color, but I think science and color theory do not agree with me.
I love wearing black. I always look taller and more put together when I’m wearing an all black ensemble. For the longest time I’d listen to friends and sales people when they’d say, “why don’t you try this on in a brighter color?” or “don’t you already have a black t-shirt/sweater/dress?” and I wouldn’t purchase the black item. Nowadays, I don’t have time for that nonsensical advice. I love black and I always want to wear it, so yes my closet may be 75% black and I love it!

Lately all black monochromatic looks have been in heavy rotation. I feel like whenever I’m in black I look much more put together and my life feels like it’s all coming together. Must be a mind trick my clothes play on me. What are your thoughts on all black? Love it or Hate it?
Here are some more monochromatic looks and I just realized, I had a nearly identical shoot this past summer with Sara B at the same dock.

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite gift ideas for any gal who loves to rock some black.

I know, I know last weeks Monochromatic Monday was devoted to Black, but I just can’t help myself. I’ve been in NYC for the past few days and have been incredibly inspired to continue the ever so flattering black on black tradition once I’m home on the west coast. So, for your enjoyment, here are my most recent fave looks from my “Black is Always the New Black” Pinterest board. And if you’d like to catch up on some more Monochromatic Monday’s, here they are.

Inspired by all the black looks on my Pinterest board, I indulged and rocked my own monochromatic look last week. I’ve been in love with the quality of faux leather options out there this season, it makes rocking the look affordable for all of us. Luckily, I invested in these knee-high Miss Sixty leather boots a few years ago during a Bloomies Friends and Family sale. I’ve worn these every season since and definitely recommend a black knee-high as a basic Fall/Winter shoe option for your wardrobe.
Side Note: I have super short arms and this Forever 21 jacket was the perfect length for me. So for any of you petite ladies I recommend it, it’s a steal at $32.80.
