I’ve come to the realization that more often than not personal style is a complete reflection of my internal emotions. Whether I’m consciously covering up a certain body part or sub-consciously searching for an article of clothing to make me feel happy, I can’t help but deny that what I’m wearing is a reflection of my heart and soul.
I feel like this connection between my style and emotions explains my roller coaster of purchases this entire year. I’ve constantly been on the search for something to make me feel happier, and by trying to attain a new sense of happiness I’ve been pouring through articles of clothing and accessories rampantly. I do not even want to try and add up how much I’ve spent this past year on things that I should not have purchased, because I know it would send me into cardiac arrest. But judging by the closet busting at the seams, it is a hefty sum. So I’m making a conscious decision to go back to my roots because I have a feeling that deciding to make this change will help me both internally and externally, and I have a feeling my bank account will thank me.
This last week when deciding what to wear I went back to my first love shoes of course! I think one of the first posts on the blog was about my love affair with these lovelies that cover our feet. When I met up with Miss Sara B to take some pictures, I made it a point to pair outfits with shoes that just make me smile.
