I have always been fascinated by films. When I was a little girl, I would beg my parents to let me watch movies over and over again. I can not tell you how many times I watched The Little Mermaid and The Lion King on VHS. Ever since I was young, I have had a love for films. It was like deep down, I knew, that films would be one of the things I would be most passionate about in life. I have never grown out of my desire to watch a film over and over again. I still do it till this day. Whenever I need a refresher on what I love in life, or if I just need to watch something beautiful, a movie never ceases to amaze me.

Tonight I saw the movie, Like Crazy. To be honest, I am not quite sure of the release date or the name of the actors, but I can tell you this – it is by far one of my favorite movies of this year. The story is about Jacob and Anna, and takes place back and forth from the US and the UK. It is a story about insanely passionate love told in the tone of harsh reality. The way their love stems from such a pure and natural state, to where it ends up is, one of the most realistic situations I have seen in a movie thus far. Not like I don’t like happy endings, but one thing I have noticed about myself is that I am tired of the corny happy endings that really make no sense in life. I love watching a situation people can relate to. In addition to its naturalistic nature, the direction of the movie completed this aesthetic value.
I believe in solid endings. The ending alone defines the strength of a film. In this particular movie, the ending successfully captured the overall message of the struggles love can bring. The lack of dialogue in the closing scene, the depth of their emotions and the intensity of their eyes speak louder than any dialogue could have. And the music, this final piece was pivitol in evoking the final emotion from the audience. I truly loved the end to this movie, I think it could stand alone and be admired for what it is.
And so, there are infinite situations when it comes to matters of the heart. In this particular situation, distance is what broke them apart but also, brought them back together.
